Sylph was one of Sowilu's two children. The result of a human and Arch-Angel mix, Sylph had ethereal wings of gossamer and supernatural healing capabilities. Like the rest of her family, she seemed to stop aging after a certain point, perhaps because of her proximity to her mother--Sowilu's presence is reported to have that effect on people.

While she was still young, Sylph was tricked and raped by Savage, in an attempt to strike at Michael through his children. This act produced Malentendu, who would eventually go on to bring about the downfall of Sowilu's empire. After her experience with Savage, Sylph never again used her powers of healing--she simply found herself unable to develop the necessary bond with her patient. Sylph did, however, go on to become a master physician using only conventional means to heal people.
